CMAT 2023

  • Common Management Admission Test or CMAT is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to over 800 MBA colleges across India. CMAT 2023 exam will be conducted most likely in the last week of January 2023. In 2021, CMAT was conducted as late as March, due to change in the exam pattern.
  • CMAT exam is a speed based entrance test in which candidates are tested on their quantitative aptitude, data interpretation skills, logical reasoning, verbal ability, English language comprehension and general knowledge. CMAT is conducted in online mode for three hours are multiple exam centres across India.
  • CMAT 2023 application process is expected to begin in the month of December and conclude in January. CMAT 2023 exam date and registration schedule will be released soon.
  • The exam pattern for CMAT is likely to remain the same as that of previous years. CMAT question paper will contain 100 questions of 4 marks each.
  • Candidates will be evaluated in Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness areas.

  • Sectional Time Limit- There is no time limit for individual parts of the test.
  • Total Questions- A candidate has to solve 100 questions.

  • Marking Scheme- Each correct answer is credited with 4 marks.
  • Negative Marking- There is -1 penalty on answering the question wrongly Unanswered.
  • Syllabus - CMAT 2023 exam would consist of 4 mandatory sections; Language Comprehensions, Quantitative Technique and Data Interpretation, Language Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness.

  • CMAT 2023 will be conducted on last week of January 2023 by NTA as a CBT for 3 hours.
  • Applicants can select four preferences of CMAT test centers while registering. The form correction window was open from second week of January 2023.
  • CMAT 2023 Slot Booking are offered on First Come First Serve Basis.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in any Discipline or those appearing for the Final Year exams of their Bachelor's Course (10+2+3) can also apply for the exam.
  • CMAT 2023 Admit Card will be made available to download by the third week of January, 2023. The exact date will be displayed on the official website to download the admit card candidates have to login through their registered email id and phone number and download their admit cards.

It is mandatory that one has a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum duration of 3 years to be eligible. Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in any Discipline or those appearing for the Final Year exams of their Bachelor's Course (10+2+3) can also apply for the exam.

    • CMAT 2023 Exam centers The CMAT 2023 exam will be conducted at multiple centres in 153 cities across India. The candidates can select up to four cities as their preferred CMAT test cities in the application form.

    CMAT 2023 Exam Centers Instructions
  • Candidates must report to the CMAT test center at least 1 hour 30 minutes before the test.
  • Along with CMAT Admit Card, carry an original valid Photo ID proof.
  • Candidate will be given a sheet of paper for the calculation work. On completion of the test, they must return the sheets to the invigilator.
  • Any kind of personal items such as wrist-watch, mobile, and calculators are not allowed inside the exam hall.
  • Candidate will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before the scheduled end time.

    CMAT 2023 Counselling

    The National Testing Agency (NTA) will not conduct any common counselling for admission in participating institutions. Candidates will have to participate in counselling process of every AICTE- Approved Institutions individually. Candidates are also advised to check the eligibility criteria for management programs of participating institution as it can be differing from the CMAT 2023 Eligibility Norms. The Counselling process for every institution could held in different time slot, so candidates should visit the website of participating institution regularly for information regarding the counselling. The counselling procedure for admission through CMAT examination will be followed by the PI and GD rounds. Some participating institution will also conduct a Written Aptitude Test (WAP) for shortlisting candidates for admission. Candidates can check complete counselling procedure of every participating institution by visiting their website.

    CMAT Counseling Highlights

  • CMAT Counseling Procedure briefly involves the release of the cut off, personal interview, group discussion and the final selection. It may vary as per the CMAT Selection Process.
  • CMAT Counseling usually starts after the cut off is released by the National Testing Agency or the NTA. The counselling process is usually different for every college, and so is the cut off for various colleges. The Cut Off is higher for colleges that offer better education, and for most excellent colleges the general cut off range is above 80.
  • Some colleges may have personal interviews and group discussions, some colleges might accept admissions based on merit list alone and some colleges may carry out admission based on the candidates CMAT Scores and Merit List.
  • CMAT Counseling may involve Personal Interview or not depending on the participating college. The Personal Interview may be conducted via Skype/Meet/other online portals. The candidates will be judged based on the following aspects:
