Symbiosis School of Planning Architecture and Design (SSPAD) is an institution which brings together a perfect blend of three streams namely planning, architecture and design under one roof. COMMUNICATION DESIGN

The Communication Design (CD) program at SSPAD offers expertise in various media, including print, interactive displays, game and animation. Focusing on problem-solving and user impact, the program delves into the creative fusion of words and images, equipping students for careers as communication planners and designers.


Graphic Design

The Graphic Design program at SSPAD equips students with the skills to create visually compelling and effective designs across various media. The curriculum covers key areas such as typography, branding, digital design, and visual communication, blending creativity with technical expertise. Students learn to develop impactful graphics that communicate messages clearly and effectively. This program prepares graduates for diverse careers in graphic design, advertising, and visual branding, emphasizing both artistic innovation and practical application.

  • Choice Based Learning in Fashion Communication - The Fashion Communication program primarily focuses on four major domains i.e., Graphic Design, Space Design, Fashion Media, and Fashion Thinking, and the related genres of these major areas, using hand and digital skills through knowledge, application, and practice-based approach.

User Experience Design

The User Experience Design (UXD) program at SSPAD focuses on creating intuitive and engaging digital experiences. Students learn to design user-centered interfaces and interactions, combining research, usability principles, and creative problem-solving. Animation Film Design

The Animation Film Design program at SSPAD is dedicated to cultivating expertise in animation and film production. INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

Interior Space Design


The Interior Space Design program at SSPAD focuses on creating functional and aesthetically pleasing environments. Students learn to design and plan interior spaces, balancing form and function while considering user needs and spatial dynamics. The program emphasizes practical skills, creative problem-solving, and an understanding of materials and design principles, preparing graduates for successful careers in interior design.

  • Choice based Learning in Retail Design - The Choice-Based Learning in Retail Design program at SSPAD offers students the flexibility to choose electives that align with their interests in various aspects of retail environments. This approach allows for personalized exploration of store layouts, visual merchandising, and customer experience strategies, equipping students with practical skills and innovative insights for successful careers in retail design.
  • Choice based Learning in Product Design - The Choice-Based Learning in Product Design program at SSPAD provides students the flexibility to select electives that align with their individual interests within product design. This approach enables them to focus on specific areas such as ergonomics, materials, or sustainability, fostering personalized learning and hands-on experience to create innovative and user-focused products.

SSPAD Eligibility


Essential

  • A candidate must have passed 10+2 (any stream, eg. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.) or equivalent OR 10+3 Diploma approved by the State Board of Technical Education
  • The candidate must have secured a minimum 50% (SC/ST - 45%) aggregate marks obtained in the final examination.
  • A candidate appearing for the final examination of the 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma program may also apply, provided the examination results should have been declared by June of the admission year or before being eligible for the above-mentioned program.
  • The candidate should possess the Creative Aptitude & Skills necessary to pursue Design Education and adaptability to the situations that the profession demands. Candidates with the relevant portfolio would be preferred.

Nagpur Domicile

  • 15% Fees Concession for Nagpur Domicile Student.
  • 25% (Twenty-five percent) of seats are reserved for candidates domiciled in Nagpur.
  • Note: "Nagpur Domiciled" means persons, who are domiciled in Nagpur for a period of 5 (five) years as on the date of commencement of the academic year, and who have class XII from Maharashtra State Board or equivalent exam or Degree certificate or are appearing for the qualifying examination of Nagpur University before admission to the program.

SSPAD Recruiters


The Internship and Placement Cell at Symbiosis School of Planning, Architecture, and Design, Nagpur, has dedicatedly organized placement drive for 4th-year B.Des. and 6th year of B.Arch respectively. Under the guidance of Officiating Director Dr. Nandini Kulkarni, along with faculty members Dr. Purva Mange and Mr. Pritam Paraye, the cell orchestrates events to provide industry exposure to students annually. These opportunities play a pivotal role in enhancing students' skills and opening new avenues for their professional growth.

After the Summer Internship program, a mandatory academically credited course, holding four credits. Students from all disciplines naming Graphic Design, User Experience Design, Product Design, and Interior Space Design undergo two months of summer internships at diverse locations across the country.
The placement drive for the batch of 2020-24 witnessed 90% of students securing job placements, and remaining 10% students are still in the process.
